THE PROCESS
Step #1 Surface Preparation
Surface preparation is the foundational step in achieving a high-quality floor coating. This
process begins with concrete restoration, where we use shot blasting or diamond grinding
to meet CSP 3+ standards. We grind and fill surface cracks to ensure a crack-free surface
and grind down any high spots. Additionally, we remove dust and prep the floor for the
epoxy coat with a vapor barrier. This meticulous preparation ensures a smooth and even
surface ready for the next stages of coating.
Step #2 Base Coat & Moisture Barrier
The next step involves the application of the base coat and moisture barrier. We start by
trimming the outside edges and sealing the concrete joints. The base coat, which is 95%
solids, forms a durable molecular bond with the concrete surface, maintaining adhesion
properties even under extreme conditions. The vapor barrier is designed to keep moisture
out, enhancing the longevity of your custom floor. This layer is crucial for ensuring a durable
and long-lasting floor coating.
Step #3 Flaking & Texture
Flaking and texture application is the third step in the process. We broadcast the flake and
texture over the surface, then scrape the floor to eliminate high spots. Any excess flakes
are vacuumed of to ensure a clean surface. A finish roller is then used to seal the flakes and
texture, preparing the surface for the top seal. This step adds visual appeal and texture to
the floor, contributing to its overall aesthetic and functional qualities.
Step #4 Polyaspartic Topcoat System
The final step is the application of the polyaspartic
topcoat system. This specially formulated,
ultra-high build topcoat technology
ofers superior adhesion properties,
forming a molecular bond with the
surface for years of performance.
Our
polyaspartic
coatings
are
high gloss, ultra-durable, and non-
yellowing, ensuring they maintain
their appearance over time. These
impact-resistant coatings will not
chip, crack, or flake, preserving the
gloss finish for years of beauty in
your garage or workspace.
